Perlearn vs Practice.do, an Alternative After the Shutdown

- comparison
- coaching
- scheduling
Practice.do shut down on November 3, 2025. If you used it, you're probably comparing Practice.do alternatives and checking which one covers the parts you relied on.
This page compares Perlearn with Practice.do as it was before the shutdown, block by block. Each section says which tool did that part better.
What happened to Practice.do
Practice.do was an all-in-one platform for coaches, therapists, and consultants. It combined scheduling, a client portal, intake forms, contracts with e-signatures, and payments through Stripe and PayPal. The company raised about $10 million.
In October 2025, CEO Julien Smith announced the shutdown. He said the company couldn't sustain itself and that an acquisition had fallen through. Users got a few weeks' notice. There was no read-only mode and no buyer, so the platform went offline on November 3.
Getting your Practice.do data back
Before the shutdown, Practice.do let you export clients and contacts as a CSV from settings. That export is gone now. If you didn't download it, here is where the same data still lives:
- Stripe. Client names, emails, and every payment that went through Practice.do.
- Your calendar. Past and upcoming sessions, if Practice.do synced with Google Calendar.
- Email. Booking confirmations and receipts with client names and dates.
Session notes and files uploaded to client portals can't be recovered from the platform.

Scheduling and booking
Both tools let clients pick a time from a public page. In Perlearn you set up each service once: length, price, and format (online, phone, or in person). Clients see your real availability and confirm without creating an account. Session reminders go out by email.

Perlearn also lets you set a cancellation window and a fee for late cancellations or no-shows. Practice.do's public materials don't mention anything similar.
Practice.do synced with Google Calendar. Perlearn doesn't have two-way calendar sync. It connects to Google Meet and adds a meeting link to each session.
Clients and notes
Practice.do kept client records, session notes (private and shared), and files. Perlearn keeps contacts with messenger links, tags, notes with attachments, and a history of sessions and payments on each client's card.
Both have a client portal. In Perlearn you invite a client by email, and they see their sessions, packages, courses, and invoices.
Packages, payments, and invoices
This is where the two differ most.
Practice.do handled the full payment flow. Clients paid by card at booking through Stripe or PayPal, and recurring billing was supported.
Perlearn tracks money but doesn't process it. You sell packages and see how many sessions are left. You can keep a prepaid balance per client and charge per session, at the end of a period, or upfront. Invoices are emailed to clients, and you mark payments as cash or bank transfer. If your clients paid by card when booking, you'll need a separate payment link.
Perlearn also has courses: a program with steps and materials, kept separate from packages. Practice.do didn't have a course builder.
Contracts, forms, and integrations
Practice.do had contracts with e-signatures, intake questionnaires, and a Zapier connection. Perlearn has none of these. If contracts or intake forms are part of how you onboard every client, Practice.do was the better fit, and with Perlearn you'd need another tool for them.
Teams
Reviews of Practice.do describe it as built for solo coaches, with limited support for multi-coach businesses. Perlearn has a team calendar with a column per member, and a session can have more than one host.
Which one fits whom
Perlearn is closer to what you need if you:
- sell packages, programs, or prepaid sessions;
- take payments by bank transfer or cash and need to see who paid and who owes;
- work alone or in a small team with a shared calendar.
Practice.do was the better fit for coaches who relied on:
- card payments at booking;
- signed contracts before the first session;
- intake forms and Zapier automations.
If the second list describes your week, Perlearn alone won't replace Practice.do yet.
How to move from Practice.do to Perlearn
- Add the clients you'll see in the next month, using your CSV export or Stripe.
- Recreate packages that still have sessions left and mark what was already used.
- Set up services and availability, then replace the old booking link wherever you shared it.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Practice.do shutting down or already closed?
- It's closed. Practice.do announced the shutdown in October 2025 and turned the platform off on November 3, 2025. There was no read-only mode, so accounts and booking links stopped working that day.
- Can I still export my data from Practice.do?
- No. The CSV export lived in Practice.do's settings and stopped working with the platform. Client names and payment history are still in your Stripe account, and past sessions are in your calendar.
- Can I import a Practice.do export into Perlearn?
- There is no one-click importer. You add active clients and recreate the packages that still have sessions left.
- Can clients pay by card through Perlearn?
- Not yet. Perlearn tracks payments rather than processing them. You record cash or a bank transfer against an invoice.
- Does Perlearn have contracts or intake forms?
- No. If you need signed contracts or questionnaires before the first session, you'll need a separate tool for that.
- How much does Perlearn cost?
- You can start on the Free plan with no card required.
